“The effects of Saturday’s storm have been completely cleared. The snow will have no impact on PATH operations, and we will expand service to help travelers going into and out of New York City” said Michael DePallo, Director and General Manager of the interstate rapid transit system.
“Trains will operate every 15 minutes until 10 p.m. on Sunday, and at least every ten minutes from 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday. Additional trains will be on stand-by, for use as needed.”
Snow has also been cleared from Port Authority bridges and tunnels and they are fully operational. Construction on all Port Authority bridges and tunnels has been suspended for the holiday weekend. The Port Authority expects 1 million vehicles to cross the bridges and tunnels on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Round-the-clock snow removal by Port Authority personnel has restored operations at John F. Kennedy International, Newark International and LaGuardia airports as of Saturday night. Travelers are strongly advised, however, to call their airlines before leaving for the airport to catch a flight or to meet an arriving passenger. The airlines have canceled, or changed the schedule for, many flights.
