DWI CHECKPOINTS AT HUDSON RIVER CROSSINGS THIS WEEKEND


The Port Authority Police will operate DWI checkpoints at the Holland and Lincoln tunnels and the George Washington Bridge between 10 P.M. Friday, December 18, and 6 A.M. Saturday, December 19.

In addition to checking vehicles and drivers, police officers will hand out safety information about the dangers of drinking and driving. Fred V. Morrone, the Port Authority's Director of Public Safety/Superintendent of Police, said, "Our goal is to prevent accidents, save lives, and remind people that driving while intoxicated is against the law.

"We want our customers to have a safe and happy holiday season."
