PORT AUTHORITY BUS FACILITIES TO HELP COMMUTERS GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT



Calypso music, Hispanic folklore dance and swing will be featured at the George Washington Bridge Bus Station during the next two weeks to help get customers into the holiday spirit.

The entertainment will be offered from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the main concourse of the bus station.

The following acts have been scheduled: --> December 14: Bethune Big Band. --> December 15: Bill Tuner and Blue Smoke. -->December 17: Ms. Babs and her Kickin'Boogie Band and the Alianza Dominicana. --> December 21: Reiter Swing Band. --> December 22: A calypso band.

Additional entertainment is planned for the Port Authority Bus Terminal from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on December 20, 21, and 22 and from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 28. The specific acts that will perform are being finalized.

The bus terminal entertainment will be provided in the North Wing of the bus terminal's Main Concourse, 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue entrance.

"We want to make this holiday season enjoyable for all of our customers," said Ken Philmus, the Port Authority's Director of Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals. "These performances will enhance the amenities we provide to our customers who use the terminals on a daily basis."
