MEDIA ADVISORY -- NEW ANNEX TO AVIATION HIGH SCHOOL TO BE DEDICATED AT JFK TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24 AT 9:30 A.M. -- School's Top Students Can Now Get Valuable Hands-On Experience Working at JFK on State-of-the-Art Aircraft Technology



The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will host a ceremony to dedicate a new 5,000-square-foot annex to Aviation High School at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Tuesday morning, October 24 at 9:30.

The annex will allow top students to supplement classroom study with direct experience at the airport, working with aircraft engines and other aircraft components.

The ceremony will take place in two locations, JFK Hangar 19 and Building 141, where the new $800,000 annex is located. Invited guests include Queens Borough President Claire Schulman, Congressman Gregory W. Meeks and other community leaders. Students and teachers from the new annex will attend, and the program will feature the Aviation High School Color Guard. Guests can also tour the new facility and see the specialized aviation equipment available to students.
