A new adaptation, called "Scrooge!," by the Waterloo Bridge Theatre Company features the familiar cast of characters that has become synonymous with the Christmas season, including Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Marley and his fellow ghosts. J. Brandon Hill directs the play, and admission is free.
"Theatrical performances in America's busiest bus terminal may seem a bit off-beat," said Cedrick Fulton, the terminal's General Manager, "but they have proven to be very popular with our customers. This free performance of "Scrooge" should help get everybody in the holiday spirit and give our patrons a respite from the hustle and bustle during this time of the year."
Theatergoers should use the entrance on 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The performance follows an October showing of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." The performances are part of the Port Authority's program of improvements at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which includes enhanced retail, restroom facilities, lighting, escalators and elevators.
