FIGHTER JETS, ANTIQUE AIRCRAFT AND EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT FEATURED AT LAGUARDIA AIRPORT'S KIDS' DAY CELEBRATION

More than 3,000 youngsters and their families are expected to attend LaGuardia Airport's annual Kiwanis Club Kids' Day on September 16 between noon and 4 P.M. The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of LaGuardia Airport and the Port Authority.

"We have been hosting this event for more than 20 years," said Warren Kroeppel, General Manager of LaGuardia Airport. "This has been a way for us to be good neighbors and to show our appreciation to the wonderful communities surrounding the airport."

Entertainment will include demonstrations by the Port Authority Police Department's Crash-Fire Rescue unit; tours of commercial aircraft, antique aircraft, Navy fighter jets and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter; and sky writers. Free hot dogs, refreshments and gifts will be distributed.

The Kiwanis Club is a non-profit organization. Its membership consists of local business and community leaders associated with LaGuardia Airport who come together to work for the betterment of the host communities.
