LAGUARDIA AIRPORT'S APPLE AIDES TO BE HONORED FOR THEIR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS

Approximately 100 senior citizen volunteers - including one who is 90 years old - will be honored at noon Thursday, October 28, for assisting LaGuardia Airport customers for the past 15 years.

The volunteers will be recognized at a ceremony at Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens.

The volunteers have served the airport since 1985, dispensing tourism and airport information to travelers from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M., seven days a week.

They live in five senior citizen centers in Queens: Elmcor in East Elmhurst; Steinway in Long Island City; Catherine Sheridan in Jackson Heights; Hanac in Astoria; and Della Monica in Astoria.

The volunteers range in age from 75 to 90.
